THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE RADEC LEARNING MODEL ON ENVIRONMENTAL LITERACY SKILLS OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Students' ability to integrate various understandings, responsibilities, and positive influences in efforts to solve environmental problems. Based on the results of TIMSS and AKMI, the environmental literacy skills of elementary school students in Indonesia are still in the low category. One learning model that can improve environmental literacy skills is the RADEC learning model. This study aims to analyze the impact of environmental literacy skills after implementing the RADEC learning model using a quasi-experimental research method with a two-group posttest design. The research was conducted in the fourth grade of SD MIS Bina Insan Taqwa, Dramaga, Bogor. The research instruments consisted of an essay test and a RADEC learning model implementation sheet. The average posttest score in the experimental class was 70.00, and in the control class, it was 36.82. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 26 with an independent samples t-test at α (0.001) and sig 0.000 < α (0.001). The results indicated a significant difference in posttest scores between the experimental and control groups. It was concluded that there was an improvement in environmental literacy skills among fourth-grade MI students in the Natural Sciences subject after receiving instruction using the RADEC learning model.
